      • MassVentures is one of the most successful and longest running venture capital firms in the world. We focus on seed stage deep tech in Massachusetts with an emphasis on academic spinouts, diverse founding teams, and diverse geographies across the Commonwealth. Under my leadership, MassVentures has quadrupled AUM, doubled the number portfolio companies, more than doubled the team, created multiple successful accelerator programs, achieved several successful exits, and improved profitability. I lead the organization as the CEO and Chief Investment Officer. Our focus is sustainable returns for our evergreen fund and substantial economic impact in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In addition to leading strategy, operations, and investments, I work closely with our portfolio companies to help guide them through product/market/pricing fit, operational strategy, financial strategy, capital raising, sales model implementation, HR, and the psychological roller coaster. Additionally, I've held board or board observer seats and worked closely with leadership teams at Ascend Elements, Ginkgo Bioworks, Fairmarkit, ClearGov, Labviva, Inkbit, Lambent Spaces, Jebbit, Spiro, Content Raven, Unstack, BoardonTrack, and MMT. https://www.mass-ventures.com/
      • BECOME FLUENT TODAY Everything we do at Fluent Financial Technologies challenges the status quo for the sophisticated alternative investment market. We don’t create and operate alternative investments…we make them better. We believe investors deserve safe investment vehicles, professional investment management, sophisticated strategies, equal access across suitability standards, complete transparency and liquidity, no switching or exit costs, low investment minimums, and full customization. Fluent Fintech provides technology and administrative services that make it equally efficient for investment managers to run tens of thousands of small liquid alternative SMAs across multiple custodians as running one big pooled vehicle at a single custodian. Fluent liquid alternative SMA technology eliminates the structural risks associated with private funds, mutual funds, and ETFs running alternative strategies such as long/short equity. Fluent liquid alternative SMA technology allows sophisticated and retail investors to invest with purpose. All investors benefit from full transparency, daily liquidity, full control/custody of assets, lower minimums, and daily analytics...at no cost. At Fluent I am responsible for technology development, partnerships, and business development.
      • Successful exit. Identified an opportunity in the financial services marketplace to bridge hedge funds and HNW investors via their RIAs. Leveraged relationships in the VC/Angel community (General Catalyst, Launch Capital, Founder Collective, Common Angels) and raised $3M. Key accomplishments include: Owned the business development function and marketed to RIAs directly and at their key conferences, developing awareness and interest in the product. Augmented sales efforts to RIAs, based on their feedback and perceived need of outsourced dilligence, by segmenting RIA targets to fit the following profile: RIAs with 150 clients/average AUM of $2.5M per client in key markets Boston, NYC, SF. Developed the product side of the business by conducting detailed due diligence on 200+ hedge funds. Successfully negotiated with 7 hedge funds, based on RIA investment criteria, to be on the initial investment platform. Developed and managed all operating strategy and procedures.
      • Market Shield devises and commercializes value-creating proprietary financing structures. We designed and created two real estate funds (residential and multifamily) and a hedge fund based on CPI and inflation components. Additionally, we produced revolutionary research and models related to inflation. As the CFO, I was responsible for capital raising, product design and development, business development, trading, and investor relations.
      • Successful Exit (NYSE:STAG) I was the first employee of STAG Capital and helped grow the firm from two of us to 35 people in 4 countries. In our second year of operations we grew to be the most active acquirer of industrial real estate in the United States. Today, STAG is a publicly traded REIT. Developed proprietary underwriting technology that allowed STAG to disrupt the commercial real estate market. Developed a business plan to focus on real estate in secondary markets that were unable to find deal opportunities. Raised over $1.5 BN in equity and debt and built database of over, 3000 institutional and HNW investors. Identified and developed the sale-leaseback business and a pipeline of deals via the private equity market and other non-traditional real estate markets. Sourced and underwrote over 1000 proprietary deals. Anticipated human capital needs as company grew from 2 founders to 35 employees and hired accordingly to fill necessary skill gaps. Investment Committee member for over 200 acquisitions. Additionally, I was responsible for writing the business plan, branding the company, developing our target market, developing our network of clients and partners, raising capital, building the underwriting model, sourcing deals, planning and scaling operations, managing operations, managing credit, developing new markets, expanding and running the European platform, and investor relations.
